Lisa Stewart

Multi-disciplinary artist Lisa Stewart (b. Melbourne, Australia 1986)

works in sound, video, installation, collage, performance and

live art experiences - inviting the viewer to look sideways into mustier

crevices of consciousness. Often working collaboratively or site-specifically, Stewart’s works play with sensory language as a means of highlighting the construction of experience. She has a particular interest in the fine line

between history and mythology, working with fable to illuminate fact and explore alternative timelines. 

 

Stewart completed a Bachelor of Visual Arts (Photomedia) in 2007 and a Bachelor of Arts (film & television) in 2009 at Monash University Melbourne, Australia and has since shown works across Australia & Internationally including spaces such as Linden Centre for Contemporary Art, ACMI, and MUMA in Melbourne; Watch This Space; in Alice Springs; First Draft Gallery in Sydney, Australia; Residencía Corazón in Buenos Aires, Argentina; The Australian Embassy Berlin and Rosalux in Berlin, Germany; as well as presenting works at festivals such as Next Wave and Channels (Melbourne, AU), Electric Nights (Athens, GR), Fierce Festival for Live Art (Birmingham, UK), CTM Festival (Berlin, DE), Body Graphics Festival (Pernik/Sofia, BG).
